Bed & Dinner situated on romantic estate, borded by the Authie river, with a 2,5 ha parc and home grounds and a private island just a few steps away from the towncenter of Auxi le Château, about 125 km from Calais. The castle-manor, rich in history, was built in 1740 and contains original details as ornemental fireplaces, wooden panneling and stainted glass. The spacious dininghall, with ceilings of almost 4 meters high, was used for game banquets by the count and countess of Hesdin. Still present and in original condition is the ornamented lodging of the hounds. The estate breaths a serene tranquility and is a perfect place to return to in the evening after trips to the coast and in the vicinity. You may want to enjoy a delicious meal (on reservation) afterwards and also you can canoe and angle for trout and eel here. |
